A major auto insurance provider sends direct mail to the states it is licensed in on a monthly basis to acquire new auto policies. Three major national data and analytics companies had attempted to develop a satisfactory prospecting strategy using models, external data and internal transactional data. None of the three projects was successful in meeting the clients goal of increasing buyer conversion rate by at least 100% over their existing program.
Use historical response data from previous marketing efforts and demographic profiles of existing customer base to build a decision tree model. Demographic and zip+4 summarized credit data was used in the model to predict likely response.
